Ed Dale
Above all Ed is a really nice Guy. I have to got to say that because he is my mentor. No really – he is. Don’t you just love that dry aussie humour?
Ed Dales business life began early.
After an “interesting” time setting up a NASCAR magazine which almost bankrupted him. Well it did – but a dose of sense from a barrister told him to agree to pay over a period, to avoid the stigma of failure and the rest is history.
Ed’s business lesson1 – Have more money coming in , than goes out – stood him in good stead for his next business which was an early web development company back in the days of unreliable dial up, and by innovative thinking he managed to pull some big prestige contracts from under the noses of huge consultancies.
These were the heady days of dot com and dotbust – and Ed was made an outrageous offer ( or rather he asked for an outrageous price) for the company during the dotcom boom.
For a while after in the turmoil of dotbust – he avoided further internet companies and focussed on real brick business – which was not really as it was cracked up to be. ( He wants to be warren buffet when he grows up!)Visions of being some kind of angel investor, was rather more hands on than he hoped.
The next internet enterprise in the UK convinced him that being a corporate player was not very nice – when having to sack staff – so from then on he focussed on own niche marketing.
And he was really successful at that – selling a group of niche websites for millions he wondered what to do next.
A relationship with Frank Kern – the underachievers – pronounced the message to succeed in a small way first, gave way ultimately to the internet eagles, which became the 30DC challenge one of the most successful free internet training programmes in history – teaming up with the likes of Dan Raine – a very successful UK internet marketer to create Immediate Edge too.
Dont be misled by the challenge or 30DC it is cutting edge stuff – using methods right up to date for earning dollars online using methods that mirror those needed to play in big leagues – starting with how do you find a good market..
Ed also pioneered the art of buying and selling websites – presenting his knowledge in both as Dominiche.
Ed Dales greatest strength in my view is not in innovation itself, but in recognising the true winners early amongst the tools which will have the greatest impact for internet marketers. For example Ed pointed at twitter whilst it was still only in infancy. So who would back against his other recommendations that flipboard is another to watch!
And Ed Dale is the consumate showman…a great entertainer whilst delivering a serious message -which in other hands would sound brutally boring. Not with Ed – the man is a master of media, and figurehead and face of the serious lab guys behind 30DC and his niche empire .
Ed has visions of becoming the next warren buffet with 30DC inc. I hope so as an investor in it!
