Ed Dale Loses a Marketing Contest at #tc10

The Challenge event at Heathrow as always fabulous!

In a pitched battle between aussie marketers Ed Dale and Pete Williams ( australias answer to Peter Jones, and Richard Branson rolled into one) – Ed Dale came off a very poor second.

The customers voted with their feet.

Or more correctly with Pete Williams feet – as they voted that they MUCH preferred Pete Williams’ branded @preneur trainers, to Eds R2D2 and C3PO. No contest. Ed Truly entered the spirit of the contest by throwing microphone down on the stage, and walking away in a strop!!

On a more serious note. Well done Ed.

The line up was fascinating. It always leaves mixed emotions – it is a mixture of being very inspired and feeling totally inadequate to know how successful some of these underground marketers are! The event this time very much focussed on process, with the message : dont worry about the outcome. Focus on process, and the outcome will take care of itself.

Inspiring presentations from less well known Daniel Dobos. Sam Witteveen, Richard Cousins showed how information businesses work, with old hands and legends Leslie Rohde, Harlan Kilstein explaining how the web is changing. Newcomer Danny Batelic, continued the run of Aussie dry humour – as he explained how his site flipping business works.

Finally Blue Sky thinking (others thought the sky was more brown – only time will tell!!) from Marty of WPDIRECT and others on how to produce web businesses on industrial scale with a mixture of automation and human review. Fascinating project.

Well Done Ed – Roll on the next one, I for one cannot wait!

Keep up with Ed by first doing the Challenge free Internet Marketing Programme- still the best free training on the internet – and then following up with immediate edge or thirtyday challenge plus – Links available for those continuity programmes from the challenge site.
