THE MARKETERS , DIARY, EVENTS and OFFERS

Who are they? What are they up to? Who can you trust ? What offers are there? When are events?

Marketers – Events and Offers

Direct Marketing (and copywriting) fascinate me, and so I keep tabs on many of the top internet and direct marketers , particularly those in the UK.

I track not  just the famous such as andrew reynolds, tim lowe, nick james and so on – but also the “underground” guys – the ones like Dan Raine who make a fortune. Quietly! – and some of the americans too.

So just2help others here is a resource to help keep track of them all – or at least the ones who appear in the UK – Let me explain…

So lets start with the  DIRECT MARKETERS

Direct Marketing goes back roundabout a century to when it became practical to mail or advertise to mass customers.

Since then legendary figures have emerged.

Claude Hopkins – Scientific Advertising. Haldemman – Julius – the first hundred million.  Caples, tested advertising methods.

Gary Halbert inspired a generation – including the succession of Bill Myers who taught Andrew Reynolds , who taught Tim Lowe, who taught Kevin Potts and so on.

Andrew Reynolds has brought direct marketing to the masses with his Cash on Demand system.

In numeric terms Ted Nicholas probably beats them all.

Ted Nicholas has sold over 6 Billion Dollars of product for himself and others using his copy. His books magic words, and “turn words into money” are worth a read for all…

As a professional copywriter and marketer, I love the soft flow of Nicholas, also Brett Mcfall and Ray Edwards.

Then there are Jay Abraham, Dan Kennedy. The list goes on. They all worth watching. See what they do , not just what they say!

Then the MARKETING SYSTEMS

Associated with some of the marketers are their branded offers. For example Andrew Reynolds distilled his knowledge into the Cash on Demand System – where Mike Filsaime built his knowledge of viral marketing in to the butterfly marketing system.

Finally a diary of MARKETING EVENTS

Don’t Know about you but I find it hard to keep track of the events. Some I dont get to hear about until afterwards. So I will present on the calendar the ones I get to hear about – maybe readers can tell me if I miss something

And other MARKETING OFFERS

More frequently than events are marketing offers – som related to  marketing systems. . The world is a confusing place, so I will try to indicate who is who , and which are the really good offers – but this is a free resource, and buyer beware. Dont buy them if they are not right for you, and don’t blame me if they are not up to scratch.

  1. Marketers tend to follow the leader nowadays so you see a host of beginners all pretending to be gurus and charging a fortune because they think this business is a way to easy riches. This is the fault of the marketers who set the benchmark years ago and have reaped massive reward at the expense of agerage people wanting to get rich.

This pattern has to stop. We are in the 21st Century and Who says that Mr average shouldn’t be able to learn the skills to use their home PC to generate an income without being ripped off for training.

Skills have to be learnt as in any business but you shouldn’t have to be sold a dream of easy riches.

  2. I Agree with you Martin.

There are far too many so called Gurus “faking it until they make it” and interestingly the ones who really do have a system for making money tend:
i/ not to want to advertise it , and
ii/ have litte interest in speaking on stages.

I would rather learn from someone making $7figures from DOING marketing than $7 figures from teaching it – the “best stuff” I learnt on PPC was from someone who rarely if ever speaks, was bullied on to stage by one of his more illustrious friends – and what he knows is way in excess of the so called “gurus” in that arena.

    There is a big however,

All new internet marketers need to get a picture of the world of marketing – and the so many rooms in the mansion.

Traffic from Contextual, to JV to SEO to PPC to articles, etc etc etc
Listbuilding in all its forms and 1, 2 and 3 stage models in funnel marketing.
Affiliate models, Ebay models, Selling tools, and services to marketers or business.
Information models, as product owner, affiliate marketr
Copywriting, Conversion, Sites and Plugins, Social Media
    And so it goes on.

For me the role of events like WIS – is that people will get an appreciation all beit incomplete of the world of marketing – before focussing. So long as they dont buy everythign out there that is.

I still think ED Dales – 3ODC or challenge is one of the best newcomer models out there (and it isnt just because he is one of my mentors, and I own shares in 30DCinc – he has moved the free line way int the distance.
